Cowichan Agricultural Society
British Colonist

CHEEK -- Yesterday Mr. Booth of Salt Spring Island called on many citizens in company with Mr. Dodd, soliciting subscriptions for the Cowichan Agricultural Society. The object was a deserving one; but we heard some not very complimentary remarks about the consummate cheek of the junior member for Cowichan in soliciting subscriptions from a community characterised by him, in his place in the House, only the day before , as a "mob of drunken rowdies!"
