Doukhobors Colony Opposed

Cottage Grove, Or., April 24. – (Special.) – Calvin T. Funk post, American Legion, has gone on record as opposing the settlement of a major part of the northern portion of Lane county by Doukhobors, a large colony of whom are said to be planning to move to this county from Canada. The principal objection to the sect is that they do not become citizens and have peculiar ideas about obeying the laws of the land.
